History and Founding
Manabiba was founded in 2006 as Manabiba Bilingual Preschool" in Rokubancho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
The school was named "Manabiba" with the idea of "a place where children can learn many things on their own" and has carefully nurtured the school with many children and families since its establishment. Currently, under new ownership and the name "Manabiba International School Tokyo," we continue to deepen our knowledge with children from infants to elementary school age in Yoga.
Trusted Staff
We are committed to watching over and accepting children as they
are.
Manabiba does its best to support and encourage children's
challenges every day. By having more than enough staff, we are able
to provide a place where children, regardless of age, want to
challenge themselves and learn! We are always ready to help them
learn! We also provide children with plenty of love and affection,
allowing them to be who they are, We support children in building
the foundation of their hearts and minds to establish themselves and
live out their lives in their own way and with flexibility, no
matter what kind of world they are living in. す。
We maintain a number of qualified childcare workers that exceeds the standard set by the government.
We have 1 to 30 years of experience working with children. The majority of our staff has been working as a team for 6-12 years.
We support children's development with a variety of knowledge. Not only from professional organizations such as nursery schools, kindergartens, and international schools, but also from staff with experience in different industries such as IT, builders, and entertainment.
We currently have an average of 8 staff for 14 children each day to support a variety of experiences.
Surrounded by the rich natural environment of parks like Kinuta
Park, the children can run, tumble, and play to their hearts
content. Due to their surroundings, they can develop a strong
physical abilities and a flexible mind.
In the great outdoors, our staff members, who are knowledgeable
about insects and other living animals, will provide opportunities
for interactive learning experiences. By learning how to treat
small creatures, they will naturally develop a kind heart that
considers others.
Our staff member, who is a Scout Leader (Boy Scout), will suggest
activities that nurture each child's independence, cooperation,
social skills, toughness, and leadership, while valuing the
children's spontaneity in play.
Each day, students are encouraged to express themselves through a variety of artistic activities. We place importance on drawing out the individual characteristics of each child. Providing a variety of experiences and concepts, they can broaden how they interact with the world. Our staff members work as facilitators to help each child realize their vision.
During English Circle Time, we explore a wide range of topics.
Every month we explore topics like space, dinosaurs and many
topics in between. We have a full time native English speaker that
works with the children all day. The children always gather around
the knowledgeable staff and try to communicate in both languages.
We also value the Japanese language at our school. During Japanese
Circle Time, through singing songs, KAMISHIBAI, reading books, to
help convey the beauty of the Japanese language. In an environment
where English and Japanese are used interchangeably, children use
both languages on a daily basis. Chinese and Korean speaking staff
also visit us regularly.
Some examples are: seeing the flowing calligraphy lines of hiragana in Shodo, the movements and taste of tea in Sado, wearing traditional dress, and a variety of foods from around Japan. We will nurture an international sensibility while carefully incorporating Japanese culture. Manabiba is an international school in Japan. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Japanese culture.
One of Manabiba’s most popular events are our monthly Field Trips. This is when the children can have first hand experiences with classmetes and their teachers. These trips outside the school are designed to add and reinforce the subjects we talk about during the month. Depending on the theme and the interests of the children we may visit Disneyland, take a ride on a Shinkansen, venture to a museum or venue to view different animals, and go as far as Tsukuba to visit JAXA to learn about the space. The staff is willing to go to great lengths to observe what peeks their interests and provide support for them to explore.

I am really glad that the same team of teachers were with my child from infancy to the age of elementary school, nurturing our family lovingly and watching us grow. I am very grateful for their childcare consultations and support after graduation.
I had nothing but trust in the care of my children, so I could focus on my work until I saw the school.
I am amazed at the switch from Japanese to English when I meet people from other countries. The creativity of artwork is a unique attraction of Manabiba that cannot be cultivated anywhere else.
